A woman was killed on Friday after a speeding water tanker struck a motorcycle near Korangi Crossing in Karachi, police and rescue officials confirmed.

According to initial reports, the tanker crushed the victim while she was riding the motorcycle. The driver fled the scene immediately after the incident. In response, enraged citizens set the tanker on fire before law enforcement arrived.

Rescue 1122 officials confirmed that the fire was later extinguished and no additional casualties were reported at the scene.

Separately, a passenger bus overturned near the Samundari Baba shrine in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, leaving three people dead and at least eight others injured.

Rescue teams transported the injured to a nearby hospital, with operations ongoing at the time of reporting.

In another incident on Quaidabad Bridge, a motorcyclist sustained critical injuries after being hit by a truck. Authorities stated that the driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.

The series of accidents has intensified public concern over traffic management and the regulation of heavy vehicles in the city.
