Met Office warns of extreme heat across the country

The heatwave continues across the country, with the Meteorological Department issuing a new alert until April 30.

The intensity of heat is expected to increase in Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan.

Yesterday, the highest temperature was recorded in Dadu at 48 degrees Celsius, followed by Nawabshah at 46 degrees Celsius, Hyderabad at 43 degrees Celsius, and Sukkur reaching 45 degrees Celsius.

In Karachi, the temperature was 39 degrees Celsius, but it felt like 41 degrees Celsius.

Other areas like Sibi recorded 48 degrees Celsius, Turbat 46 degrees Celsius, and Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan 42 degrees Celsius.

Lahore and Multan also reached 41 degrees Celsius, while Dera Ismail Khan saw 40 degrees.

Peshawar and Bannu recorded temperatures up to 39 degrees Celsius. The heatwave will continue until April 30.
